Tariffs is currently the talk of the country and is believed to potentially affect the cost of goods and potentially cause a shortage in food supplies; and while these may currently only be speculations, I want to prepare my subscribers, so we are not caught off guard should there be a food shortage or increase in food prices.
Upon research I've chosen to share with you 6 food categories that you should consider purchasing and storing "now" to help you and your family outlast a possible recession.
Flour: Flour is one of my favorites because many dishes can be made from flour. Tortillas, Breads, Pastries, are all dishes that can be made from scratch with all-purpose flour. Flour lasts long and could be your best friend during tough times.
Pasta: Pasta is a long-lasting food and also one of the most affordable foods on the market right now, with pasta dishes consider storing pasta and marinara sauces with expiration dates lasting up to two years.
Canned Tuna and Chicken Breast: Consider racking up on these canned meats that last long and can save you during a time of recession. While everyone else is ramming around trying to find meat, you can have these stored up, giving you a peace of mind and avoiding hard times.
Dried Beans, Rice, Oats, and Grains: These dried foods can last at least a year and also provide the protein and minerals needed to keep you strong and focused on your life's journey.
Salt, Sugar, Honey: These are your long-lasting seasonings, adding them to the above dishes can keep your food savory during a possible recession.
Tea and Powered Milk: Powered milk while not the most popular it can be a life saver during a recession. While everyone else may be looking for milk you can have yours already stored up in your cabinet. Tea has a long storage life and can be good for a nice iced sweet drink during times of turmoil.
