If you’re like me, you’ve probably been watching gas prices climb and wondering if there’s any way to save at the pump. The good news is that there is. I’ve received so much cash back and gotten so many nice deals on gas over the last few months that I had to write about it!
With heightened gas prices in today’s economy, finding great deals on gas is much needed.
Here are some gas deals I’ve been using that you can explore this summer to keep more money in your pocket:
PayPal 5% cash back on fuel: PayPal offers 5% cash back on fuel. I activated this feature a few months ago and I love it. 5% may not seem like much but the money does indeed add up fast and with today’s gas prices, you want to get back as much as you can. However, you’ll need to reactivate this feature monthly, but it’s very simple. Just open the PayPal app, activate the 5% cash back feature, and use your PayPal card at any gas station. Even if you’re not pumping gas and just want a snack from the gas station, the cash back will still apply. Taking the time to activate this feature is well worth it.
Circle K’s 20 cents off per gallon: If you have a local Circle K (or Holiday gas station operated by Circle K), you can ask the clerk for the 20 cents off per gallon gas card. This card is valid through 8/31/2026 and if you use your PayPal card and your 20 cents off per gallon gas card, that’s an even greater discount! You’ll get 20 cents off per gallon plus your 5% cash back. You can also download the Circle K app for gas discounts.
Speedway: I found myself often going to Speedway and decided to sign up for the speedy rewards. I would put my phone number in every time I went but never paid attention to how many points I was racking up. Before I knew it, I had enough points racked up to get 25 cents off per gallon of gas or my choice of free food, drinks, or a gift card. These points rack up fast and come in handy when needed.
Each city and state is different so I would encourage you to check out your local gas stations and see what deals you can take advantage of. (Shell also offers fuel savings that can be found on the app)
Apps: Apps like Upside can help you get cash back on gas purchases and GasBuddy can help you find the most affordable gas prices in your area, as well as allow you to earn cash back.
Save Small and You Can Win Big:
When it comes to saving money, small actions like these do matter and can make a big difference. Keeping money now starts with consistently making smart financial choices, no matter how small, to help get you to your next financial level. Gas savings can definitely come in handy during challenging times and help you keep more money in your pocket.
Question: Do you know of any other ways you can save money on gas this summer? Are there any apps or local gas stations near you that offer deals that were not mentioned here? Let me know in the comments below.
